There are several events planned to help you enjoy your leadership experience. Each evening, participants have the opportunity to exercise and relax utilizing recreational facilities on campus. The INSTITUTE offers swimming, basketball, weight lifting, tennis, volleyball, bowling, movies, billiards, board games for you to unwind after a day of workshops and discussions. Midnight snacks will be offered also!

In addition to the recreational activities, there will be opportunities for participants to visit the cultural sites in the local area including Ocean City, Maryland (Beach and Amusement Park).

Accommodations

On campus accommodations will be provided in University Terrace Residential Hall. One of the newest housing facilities, built in 2002, offering air conditioned rooms, internet and security. All campus facilities are non-smoking. Single rooms will be available to Advisors at an extra rate of $20 per person.

Weather Update

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is located in close proximity to Ocean City, Maryland and two hours away from Baltimore, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The weather in May is at a range of mid 80’s in the day and 70’s at night. A light jacket is appropriate at all times. Because we are located between two large bodies of water, an umbrella is a must during this time of year.

What Do I Wear?

Dress for the INSTITUTE is Business Casual with times of Business Professional and School Pride Clothing. (Please see the schedule. You will be walking from session to session and comfortable clothing and shoes are encouraged. You will need at least two (2) upscale outfits for the Community Service Project and Student Leadership Gala.
